Wicked Good Franks Coming to Brooklyn

Move over Nathan’s Famous Hotdog..you’ve got yourself some competition. Wicked Good Franks from Massachusetts is set to move into Brooklyn, arriving on Myrtle Avenue at Classon Avenue. Setting up shop there, they’ll be the only purveyor of the New England style hot dogs in town.

Hot Dog Lovers

For hot dog lovers, everyone knows that the New England style hot dog is a bit juicer than the average dog and that it is steamed in its casing to create a crispy surprise when you first bite into it.

As Bruno Iannotta, the Wicked Good Frank’s owner said,

“I don’t mind the competition, I know that my hot dog is superior.”

Taking a Hotdog Stand

George Shea, the spokesman for the International Federation of Competitive Eating, has his own opinion about the New England hotdog. As he said,

“As much as I honor the area, no New England hot dog could ever beat the taste of a Nathan’s hot dog. New England should stick with lobster and scenic vacations. Hot dogs are too aspirational for them.”

Iannotta isn’t daunted. He explained, “[Our frank] is catching on. People like good quality food in this neighborhood.”

Those who venture into Wicked Good Franks will find an interesting menu with everything from the Southern hotdog (hot do wrapped in bacon and covered with coleslaw and Gorgonzola cheese), the Buffalo (hotdog covered in hot win sauce, carrots, celery and bleu cheese), the Cuban (hotdog covered in mustard, swiss cheese, pickles and red pastrami), and more.
