Upcoming: 15th Annual Ship Finance Forum
Next month, on November 12th, the 15th Annual Ship Finance Forum will take place at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Entitled “Riding the Wave: Institutional Capital for Shipping” the corporate sponsors include a vast array of impressive names from ReedSmith and Jefferies to Pareto Securities, Evercore and Holland & Knight.
Prior to the full day event, registered attendees such as CEO Erik Helberg, Chairman and CEO Wilbur L. Ross and Chairman and CEO Sophocles Zoullas are welcome to a cocktail reception hosted by Seward & Kissel LLP. The reception will take place from 5:30-7:30 pm on November 11th.
Sessions throughout the day on November 12th will include topics such as “The Shale Play: What It Really Means for Shipping Demand” by Andrew M. Lipow, President of Lipow Oil Associates LLC. Prior to lunch, Sophocles N. Zoullas, Chairman and CEO of Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. will talk about “Looking Ahead: Key Themes for the Dry Bulk Market” and Kirk S. Phillips, the Managing Director of AIG Investments will discuss “Credit Alternatives for Shipping and Offshore Companies and Assets.”
In addition to the many sessions throughout the course of the day, there will be two special breakout sessions. One is about “Shipping Opportunities in Germany” and will include private networking breakout meetings among German ship owners and investors. The other breakout session is entitled “Offshore Investment Opportunities — Mexico and Brazil” and will be moderated by Truls Chr. Troan, the Head of Corporate Finance for PS Platou Markets AS.
