New Auto Elevators Made in NYC

Manhattan condominium 200 Eleventh Avenue features a new and improved parking system- the auto elevator! The condos include what developer Urban Muse Management calls “en-suite sky garages” which are located on every floor of the building. Now, apartment dwellers will still be able to park their cars right outside their doors. Annabelle Selldorf, the architect, has installed remote sensors in the new elevators, which control the delivery of tenants’ cars to their designated spaces. Of course, the buildings also include the traditional elevators for the tenants themselves.

This elevator concept is not altogether new; industrial buildings like Starrett-Lehigh have similar elevators that were created for trucks.

The condominium’s fifteen units have already sold, along with two penthouses, bringing in an incredible $30 million. The new owners include Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Domenico Dolce and Jamie Drake.
