Gowanus Takes Center Stage in New Film

Gowanus fans may enjoy a new movie coming soon called Martyr of Gowanus. The cast includes Sawyer Spielberg (yes, Steven Spielberg’s son) and Holt McCallany and focuses on the story of a Brooklyn man who commits a violent act after witnessing 9/11.

If you aren’t familiar with this Spielberg’s work, he’s certainly not as famous as his father yet. But he has been in a number of indie movies including Merry Good Enough, Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point and Honeydew. He also has a recurring role on the upcoming Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air.

Those of us in Gowanus look forward to seeing this new film when it eventually airs.
