Brooklyn Public Library’ Johnson says “Support Our Shelves”

Brooklyn Public Library

From March 1st through June 30 the Brooklyn Public Library is holding their fourth annual fundraising drive. The goal is to raise $500,000 for brand new books, DVDs and even eBooks for all of Brooklyn’s 60 branches.

Linda E. Johnson, President and CEO of the Brooklyn Public Library explained why it is important and beneficial to everyone to support the library: “Our extraordinary collection of materials makes it possible to learn about virtually any subject.”

The campaign not only encourages people to support their local libraries but to act as advocates for them as well. It is possible to give donations at any of Brooklyn’s local branches directly, or by going on line to https://bpl.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/donate. Donations can also be made over the phone by calling 718-230-2738.

It is also possible to donate to the library through ABC Kiosks which give those who want to donate small sums the opportunity. Donations from as low as $1 up to $20 are accepted.

“Support Our Shelves” is also getting corporate support from AT&T, and Brooklyn Industries, a local retailer, is supplying a limited-edition T-Shirt which will also benefit the fund raising campaign.
